Cereal Mallow Bars

1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons butter or margarine

1 pkg (10 oz) Campfire miniature marshmallows

1/4 cup peanut butter

6 cups cereal checks

2 cups salted peanuts

Topping:  1 cup chocolate chips, 1/4 cup peanut butter

Microwave butter in 3-quart mixing bowl or casserole at High 45 to 60 seconds, or until melted.  Stir in marshmallows and peanut butter. Microwave at High 1 1/2 to 2 minutes, or until melted, stirring after 1 minute.  Stir until smooth.  Add cereal and peanuts; stir with meat fork or woooden spoon until well coated.  Press mixture in buttered 13×9 or 12×8-inch baking dish with back of large spoon.  (Dip spoon in cold water or coat lightly with butter to prevent sticking.)

Place topping ingredients in small bowl.  Microwave at 50% (medium) 2 1/2 to 4 minutes, or until chips are shiny and soft; blend well.  Drizzle over bars, spreading carefully.  Cool before cutting.
